Ep99: Difficult Conversations

So many entrepreneurs are so struck by the people pleasing gene of wanting to make everybody else happy around them, of having the need for external validation, the fear of disappointing others and that drives a certain kind of behavior.

With communication, people think about what they're going to say, it is all about the way we listen. It's all about being willing to be totally present, letting go of any the stories that we make up and being curious.

1:14.    As a human, you get stuck with sticky stuff all the time

5:36     A lot of entrepreneurs that I've worked with have control issues and that leads to a lot

of loneliness and depression

9:00     Leadership is definitely underpinned by confidence

15:35   Imposter syndrome only affects you, when you get to a certain level.  Little kids don't

have imposter syndrome, middle managers don't have imposter syndrome.

17:47   I think that first thing for a CEO and leader is setting the vision, being the chief

inspiration officer and being really responsible for the values and the culture of the

organization
